One Year In, One Thousand Tears & Joy
It’s been just over a year since I opened Modern Goddess Zone, in George Street, Hove.
And honestly, it’s very different when you actually do it… compared to how you imagine it before.
Before, it’s ideas, plans, expectations.
When you’re in it, it’s real decisions, real people, real responsibility — every day.
I think I’ve learned more in this one year than I ever did in any formal education.
Not even close.
At the same time, the feeling of building something real — something that exists, that people come into, that holds its own energy — that’s also something no diploma can give you.

There have been a lot of adjustments along the way.
Trying things, changing things, figuring out what actually works for this space, for this team, for the way I want this business to feel.
It’s still shaping itself.
Slowly, but in the right direction.
And one thing I genuinely didn’t expect — or maybe didn’t fully understand before — is how much the people matter.
The quality of people I’ve met through this space, both clients and practitioners, has been one of the biggest gifts.
I’m really grateful for that.
There’s been challenge, of course.
But overall, it’s been a pleasure to build this.
And it still is.
We’re not “expanding” anymore in the way I first thought.
It’s more about refining now.
Getting the right structure, the right rhythm, the right people in the right places.
Something more stable. More aligned.
I feel like that’s where we are now.
And I’m looking forward to what the next year brings — hopefully more of the same, just deeper, more settled, more clear.
And if you’re reading this, you’re part of this too.
